David R. Moore is Chairman of the Board and Engineering Manager of the Rex Moore Group, Inc. He is the fourth generation of the Moore family to start at the bottom and work his way up to the top leadership role in the company.
David's leadership style brings new meaning to the old adage, "if you're not constantly changing and growing as an organization, you're sliding backwards." David's energy and passion for innovation drives the modern day imprint of a company with a rich heritage of service and personal attention to client needs. In fact, David drives everyone in the organization to excel at imparting real value to clients through innovative solutions, and he would be the first to tell you that he wants it done today!
A tireless driver of Rex Moore's ten-year Lean transformation, David led the organizational change to the current sophisticated Rex Moore Production System. The approach forced the management team to reinvent Rex Moore's business model and adopt new concepts and internal operating practices. David is proud of the fact that initiatives such as Design for Manufacturability, Assembly and Installation (DFMAI), standardized installation methods and assemblies, Lean manufacturing concepts, value stream mapping, kitting and work flow analysis are common operating practices within the company.
Rex Moore today is a professionally run organization with a family feel. David is a champion for what Rex Moore stands for, regularly visiting jobsites across the country to keep connected to team members, ensuring quality installations, evaluating the efficiency of the production system as well as promoting the level of service Rex Moore clients have grown to expect.
David holds a bachelor's degree in Business from San Diego State University and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. He is a Board member of the Continuous Improvement Network, Tesco Controls Inc., and serves as Chairman of the board for Make-A-Wish Northern California and Northern Nevada. David also is active in the community with charitable organizations and construction industry associations.
When not driving organizational change, David likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys traveling, supporting his daughters' interests and spending time at the beach or in the Sierras. David's recreational interests include surfing at many of his favorite southern California breaks, skiing at speeds above his ability, and golfing whenever the greens keeper will allow.
