Chief Financial Officer
A former football quarterback, if Brock yells “go deep” you had better run fast. As Chief Financial Officer for an innovative electrical contracting company, he has to be an excellent play caller. He is constantly coaching, mentoring and otherwise analyzing ways for Rex Moore teams to become stronger, more profitable and perform at the highest level.
Brock has served Rex Moore since 1999, first as Vice President of Finance then in 2002 being promoted to Chief Financial Officer in charge of all financial aspects of the company. Today he oversees all internal budgeting and accounting, financial reporting, risk management, banking and surety relationships, contracts, and the company retirement and medical plans. Additionally, in 2005 Brock assumed CFO responsibilities for Rex Moore Integrated Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary focused on low voltage systems design, installation and maintenance. Along with David Moore and William Hubbard, Brock is a member of the Executive Management Team which guides the strategic direction of the company.
With over 20 years of senior management experience, Brock brings a diverse financial background coupled with strong organizational skills. He started his career in accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick in Los Angeles, California. During his four years with KPMG, Brock obtained his Certified Public Accountant designation and served as strategy and operations advisor to senior management of public and private companies in the construction, healthcare, insurance and real estate industries. For six years following that, Brock served as senior financial analyst for the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center and was liaison between the Medical Center and Medical School Department Chairs on financial reporting and cost allocations. He was as a key member of the team that orchestrated the UCSF Medical Center merger with Stanford University.
Brock holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. He is currently President of the Construction Financial Management Association, Sacramento Chapter, and serves on the CFMA board of directors. Brock also serves on the Finance Committee for Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, California.
Off the field, Brock enjoys playing tennis, mountain biking, snow boarding, and spending time with his wife and three children.
